AR Town Builder
शहAR is an interactive augmented reality project designed to be town builder. By placing dedicated markers, user can generate houses, shops, offices, roads and many more objects to create a unique, custom town of their liking. through inter-marker interaction, they can also combine certain buildings to create larger version of them. The objective of this iteractive app is to explore your creativity and have fun.
Overview
This academic project was conceptualised, designed, developed and tested within a two-week timeframe. The project involved collaboration within a team of 5 and was part of a course that aimed to provide an introduction and exploration of the development and applications of Extended Reality (XR) and its various media.
Outcome
We successfully developed a working AR app that incorporates physical terrain mats and physical 2D markers representing different structures. Users have the ability to construct their own towns using these markers on the terrain mats and witness their towns come alive through augmented reality.
Concept
We wanted to use AR to explore how things do not directly combine in the real world can combine in extended reality to form new things. Our idea manifested as an AR town builder.
